Car Rental:

Car Rental is the easiest way to access both Lake Villa and Chicago. All the O'Hare rental car agencies can be found near the baggage claim areas in Terminals 1, 2, and 3. Courtesy phones are there for your convenience. Courtesy phones for rental cars are also located in the lower level of Terminal 5 of O'Hare Airport. The rental car agencies often operate complimentary bus/shuttle services. We recommend booking a car rental well ahead of time for the best price. Whether you’re a brand new user or a long time customer, Uber is a state of the art taxi service and excellent way to get around Chicago and the surrounding suburbs. With any smartphone, download the Uber app. Once downloaded, you can easily get a fare quote from your current location to your final destination, hail a driver right from your phone and get a text message as soon as they arrive.

 

While you can use UberTaxi to call a ride directly to the airport, we recommend walking just beyond the Arrivals area to the Public Transit- Blue Line side of the airport for pick-up. It saves time and confusion!

 

A variety of UberX and UberTaxi services are also available around Lake Villa, to ensure you can get to and from our selected hotel, train station to the city and anywhere else you may want to go!

Public Transportation:

Both the Suburbs and Chicago are easily accessible by public transportation on the Illinois commuter train system Metra. For just about $7, you can purchase a one-way ticket, so it is extremely budget friendly for all of our guests and a beautiful, relaxing way to travel all over—from the airport, to Lake Villa, to the city, and beyond!

 

If you decide to use the train to access Libertyville, the station is located less than 2 miles from the Hampton Inn & Suites where we have a courtesy room block. Please use a 303 Taxi or Uber to travel between the two locations.

 

You can also hop back on the train from the Libertyville station and take it all the way to Union Station in downtown Chicago. From there, you can walk, bike or cab to any of the super fun Chicago activities you’ll find on our Things to Do.

 

To/From O’Hare Airport to Libertyville:

Travelers coming from O'Hare International Airport terminals can use the O'Hare Transfer Station to access Metra's North Central Service trains to the Praire Crossing/Libertyville station. The station is located adjacent to Parking Lot F on the northeast side of O'Hare.

How Do I Get There?

You can reach the station from the terminals by taking the Airport Transit System (ATS) to the remote parking lots. From the remote parking lots, board the "Parking Lot F" airport shuttle bus for a quick ride to the O'Hare Transfer Station.

 

How Do I Get to O'Hare From the Station?

If you are arriving to the station and are trying to reach the airport terminals, the "Parking Lot F" airport shuttle bus makes regular pick-ups from the Transfer Station to the ATS where you can then connect to the terminals. 

 

How Do I Buy a Ticket?

Tickets can be purchased from the conductor on the train for approximately $7.
